'What can I do with my degree?'
Almost every day I am asked this question.
Anyone doing a generalist degree like Science, Arts, Commerce or Health Science might wonder what to do at the end of the degree but it is just not about getting a qualification.
When I sit down and unpack this question with people it is really vital to work through each individual's interests and doing some research on their options.
There is so much you can do with your degree!
It is not always to unpack and it is never super easy easy but it is possible to work through it.
You need to explore the world of work.
And you need to think about what you want to do with your life.
What skills, interests and values and experience do you have?
It doesn't need to cost you a lot to find out.
There is lots of free help available. Here are a couple of examples:
Talk to your university careers service
Go to www.joboutlook.gov.au and look at what occupations are out there.
Ask people you know about their jobs.
Don't leave it until the end of your degree. Do some career planning now!
